It is a humbling experience to watch my patients discover the joy of hearing again.  Hearing is a critically important sense for balance, mental health, personal safety, and for connecting with the people in our lives and navigating the world around us.  Just like eye-glasses, hearing aids can restore some of our lost capability and increase our quality of life.

Before recommending any solution, I perform a thorough test of your auditory system and evaluate your hearing loss.  Your hearing impairment, your lifestyle and your communication goals are unique to you.  During your appointment I take time to discuss with you the range of options that fit your specific needs.  Hearing aids are custom-fitted and custom-programmed to you.  There is no “one size fits all” solution to hearing problems.  We see many people who have been scammed into buying cheap amplification devices on the internet and come to us unhappy with the results.  Hearing aids need to be programmed to your exact levels of loss and to the different “sound situations” that you experience.  They also need to be adjusted, cleaned, and maintained periodically, particularly as your loss changes over time.
